Server Lore:
The Lands weren't always as they are now. Once, several great nations lived in harmony of green fields, and towering mountains- but the times of peace were inevitably temporary. The seven great nations soon began to wage war with one another in massive, glorious battles- where untold magic and warriors arose from all manners of life. They met in the center of the lands in a battle that was henceforth referred to as the Xaos Rift, as the power of such artifacts and magics colliding resulted in an untold eruption across that lands that wreaked havoc upon the lands and its inhabitants. Very few survived the Rift- and the lands themselves were uprooted and shifted in unnatural ways that left them forever scarred, and its survivors changed. Monsters unlike any seen before began to crawl their way out from hidden locations, beasts long slumbering began to awake from such an eruption of power, and the residual magic leftover changed many of the Lands creatures into twisted mutations of themselves. The Undead began to arise in all corners of the Lands, though most were mindless in their hunt, and frequently planar rifts would open and either deposit off more monsters or people from other planes and dimensions, or steal away from this one. Once a predominantly human continent, they were no more common to see than an elf, or tiefling, as all manner of beings now roamed these lands in an effort to survive or find like minded clans to join. The kingdoms never again rose to power, and now thousands of years later, the lands were beginning to heal- and those whom had survived or just having gotten dropped off were able to start going into locations long since locked away. This of course, started a movement of it's own, after all- who knows what these lands could be hiding, as once locked away secrets finally became available, as the residual magics began to ebb away?
